Hats that are too big can usually be adjusted with hat corks. The cork inserts are placed by slightly lifting the sweatband and placing the strip so that it is wedged between the strap and the hat lining.
The inserts are delivered as a 2-pack, which is enough to adjust the size by about half a centimeter.
